Unusual Fire and Smoke, soot, and toxic/irritating fumes (i.e.,
Hazardous Combustion and carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc.).
Decomposition Products:
Fire and Explosion May liberate irritating or toxic vapors during
Hazards: combustion or decomposition.
Extinguishing Media: Based on the NFPA guide, use dry chemical,
carbon dioxide, or alcohol foam. Use water to
cool containers exposed to fire. For large
fires, use water spray or fog, thoroughly
drenching the burning material;
Fire-Fighting Fire fighters and others who may be exposed to
Procedures/Equipment: the products of combustion should be equipped
with NIOSH-approved, positive-pressure,
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and
full protective clothing.
Section 6. Accidental Release Measures
Spill Containment Use an absorbent and place contaminated material in
and Recovery: a suitable container for disposal.
