HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Route of Entry: eyes, skin, inhalation, ingestion Target Organs: Inhalation: May irritate the nose, throat, and lungs. Exposure to high doses may cause central nervous system depression Such doses may also cause adverse effect in liver, kidney and lungs. Skin Contact: May cause irritation. Eye Contact; May cause irritation. Ingestion: Low toxicity, not expected to be a hazard in normal use. May aggravate a pre-existing skin and respiratory disorders. Physical Hazard: Aerosol containers are pressurized (even when empty!). Do not expose to temperatures above 120F. Do not puncture or burn can. Failure to observe these precautions may result in rapid and violent decompression of the container producing projectiles and atomization of the liquid contents. Notice: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational Overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Continue to monitor. Get medical attention. Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing immediately! Wash skin with soap and water. If irritation develops, seek medical attention. Eye Contact: Flush eye(s) with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention. If irritation persist, seek medical treatment. Ingestion: Wash mouth with plenty of water. If conscious, give a glass of water to drink. Get medical attention. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flashpoint: None Auto ignition temperature: 490 C Flammable/Explosion limits: 4.0 - 8.0 % by volume in air. HANDLING AND STORAGE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Handling Precautions: Use in accordance with good industrial workplace practices. Avoid unnecessary contact. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with good ventilation. Storage Requirements: Store in a dry place away from excessive heat. Store containers with lids on and properly labeled. Do not store at temperatures above 120 degrees F. 8. Protective Equipment: Eyes and Face: Standard safety glasses with splash shields typically offer adequate protection. Where excessive splashing or spraying is possible, a face shield should be used.
